Salam Maal Hijrah...

Semalam, 1 Muharam 1430. Salam Maal Hijrah.
Nak berhijrah daripada yg tak baik kepada yg baik dan dari yg baik kepada yg lebih baik... yg byknya kekurangan yg perlu diperbaiki....

Most of my resolutions are again repeated from yr to yr... but I'm not talking about the old repeated resolutions...

From now on, I have to stress on Akid's progress in school. Went to survey the tuition classes this morning with him just to get to know what's offered but I'm not going to enroll him to any of those extra classes yet. I know I can teach him myself. While I'm updating this blog, Akid is just next to me doing some advance homework for year 2 now... Not sure if I'm not around... I guess, he'll stuck in front of pc playing games...

My other resolution is to eat healthily. I started to consume oat with raisins now. For main dish, we took lunch with chicken soup just now. Oh ya, last night we had ikan bakar with air asam. And of course with a lot of veggies. Lately, I'm easily hungry and do take snacks in between the main meal (blame it on the hormone :P). That's why I do spare the salads in the fridge so I can take it whenever I'm craving for food. Well, it's so easy to prepare. Harap2 bukan hangat2 tahi ayam sudah la...

Cuti Sekolah - Nov 2008

It has been 4 days since Akid went back to my parent's house in KB. Wah.. wah, seronok bukan main berkumpul dgn sepupu2 di kampung, lupa kat kita org di sini. On Wed while I was in Ktn, Akid and cousins, Cik Na together with maid were sent to LCCT to catch airasia to KB.

Last wk, Cik E & Cik Na were here with Im, Nisa & Nik Mad. I took 2 days leave to accompany them around, but Abah or Cik Wa were the ones yg drive. Ralat jugak I had to go to Labuan on Sunday & berkejar ke Ktn pulak the next day after got back from Labuan... left all of them in KL, buat hal masing2.... Nak buat camna, bkn company sendiri kan...

As Akid & maid are away in KB, Abah & Mama are like zaman dolu2, time berdua2 takder anak. At first we felt a bit awkward, rasa sunyi jer tp sometimes seronok jugak even we have to take care of the hse chores, doing all the laundry by ourselves. Since Akid is not at home, we don't feel guilty coming back late from office and straight away had dinner outside together2 if I feel soo lazy to cook... It's just that during weekend, we hv to complete the laundry before going off somewhere... Last nite, after we took care of the laundry, we went to one utama just the 2 of us and abah got something for mama's bday & anniv, hehee mama got 2 gorgeous items at the same time... Thanks yaa Abah...

Spoloh taun suda...

14th November 1998 - 14th November 2008,
Happy 10th Anniversary to us...

Time flies.... It has been 10 years since we tied the sacred knot on November 14th, 1998. Ten memorable years for me and my dear hubby whom going thru all ups and downs, facing all the happy and hard moments together... Along the way, It's not always sweet and rosy, of course... However, despite of all our imperfection, Alhamdulillah, my praise to Allah for granting us all HIS love, HIS mercy and for always giving us every other single chance in this life...

Talking about marriage life, I remembered this '80/20 rule' article, emailed to me by a fren.
Well, something to ponder...

Interesting quote from the movie 'Why did I get married?' In most cases, especially in relationships, you will only get 80% of what you NEED and you will hardly get the other 20% that you WANT in your relationship. There is always another person (man or women) that you will meet and that will offer you the other 20% which is lacking in your relationship that you WANT And believe me, 20% looks really good when you are not getting it at all in your current relationshipBut the problem is that you will always be tempted to leave that good 80% that you know you have, thinking that you will get something better with the other 20% that you WANT. But as reality has proven, in most cases, you will always end up with having the 20% that you WANT and loosing the 80% that you really NEED and that you already had. Be careful in deciding between what you WANT and NEED in your life.

Adultery happens when you start looking for what you don't have. 'Wow, this girl in my office is a real looker. But it's not her Wynona Rider features that got me. I'm crazy about her because she's also understanding, intelligent, tender - so many things that my spouse is not' Somewhere along the way, you'll find a woman or a man who will be more charming or sensitive. More alluring. More thoughtful. Richer. Have greater sex appeal. And you will find a woman or man who will need you and pursue you and go loco over you more than your spouse ever did. Because no wife or husband is perfect. Because a spouse will only have 80% of what you're looking for.

So adultery takes place when a husband or wife looks for the missing 20%. Let's say your wife is melancholic by nature. You may find yourself drawn to the pretty clerk who has a cherry laugh no matter what she says: 'I broke my arm yes terday, Hahahaha . . ..' Or because your wife is a homebody in slippers and pajamas, smelling of garlic and fish oil, you may fall for a fresh-smelling young sales representative that visits your office in a sharp black blazer, high heels, and a red pencil-cut skirt Or because your husband is the quiet type, your heart may skip a beat when you meet an old college flame who has the makings of a talk show host.

But wait! That's only 20% of what you don't have. Don't throw away the 80% that you already have! That's not all. Add to your spouse's 80% the 100% that represents all the years that you have been with each other. The storms you have weathered together. The unforgettable moments of sadness and joy as a couple. The many adjustments you have made to love the other. The wealth of memories that you've accumulated as lovers. Adultery happens when you start looking for what you don't have. But faithfulness happens when you start thanking God for what you already have.

But I'm not just talking about marriage.
I'm talking about life!
About your jobs.
About your friends.
About your children.
About your lifestyles.

Are you like the economy airline passenger that perennially peeks through the door of the first class cabin, obsessed with what he's missing? 'They have got more leg room! Oh my, their food is served in porcelain! Wow, their seats recline at an 80% angle and they've got personal videos!' I guarantee you'll be miserable for the entire trip! Don't live your life like that. Forget about what the world says is first class. Do you know that there are many first class passengers who are miserable in first class -- because they are not riding in a private Lear Jet?
The main message??? If you start appreciating what you have right now, wherever you are, you are first class!

Happy bday 2 me...;)

Surprise bday's set-up from Abah when I got home yesterday... Hmmm cake, flowers, card & balloons, so thoughtful of him... :)) We decided to celebrate Akid's bday as well, who'll turn 7 this Wed, 5th Nov, so terus kasi bday presents to him. He was so excited to get his dreamed Jazz from abah & some stuffs that I brought from Oz. Then later in the afternoon, we had Bday Lunch at Spice of India in KLCC. Ini gara2 mama masih teringat2 makan briyani & masala yg sungguh lah sedap kat Surfer's Paradise...

No. of candles doesn't indicate the no. of years okay,
As usual, abah belasah jer heheh...
Akid & Abah yg tiup belon2 tuh, so sweet :)

River cruising

It's only A$5+ for the return trip fare to cruise along the Brisbane river. I personally think that's really cheap. The trip was an enjoyable one & the view was indeed fantastic...

Dinner by the river

This evening, we (the independent review team) had dinner by the Brisbane river, right from office, just for us to get together (apart of office work) and to get to know each other better. Apparently, the only time we briefly introduced ourselves were on the first meeting and it seemed that everybody was stressing on their experience in the industry which are more than 20 yrs, even some of them have more than 30 yrs exp. I'm the only lady in the team of those 'grey-hair' guys with 'ciput' experience huhuhu.... However, the obvious gud thing about these ppl is their team spirit. Most of staffs here are very helpful & friendly. That makes our work easier and enjoyable even within this tight schedule.

I'm the only lady in the team, it's not unusual tho.

A lovely place to be...

Nice view, nice weather (at the moment of time), nice people... Indeed, such a lovely place to spend a holiday with the family...but I'm here to work. In fact, I went to work this morning, on deepavali. Btw, what Queensland govt. hv to do with devali thing... me either but back in Msia, it's a public holiday. That actually counts to the ppl like me... Btw, it doesn't matter. Being here during this fine weather is such a bless... I'm sooo excited...

Ikan oh ikan...

Sebaik pulang dari beraya di kampung, air kolam kat rmh tu hijau sehijau-hijaunya dek berlumut. Kebetulan dtg mood rajin, kitaorg pun cubalah bersihkan kolam & menggantikan dgn air bersih. Oleh kerna kurang pengalaman dlm bab2 bela ikan, habis lemas ikan2 tu. Sementara bersihkan kolam, ikan2 tu kitaorg tangkap & masukkan dlm 'bath tub' tanpa terlebih dahulu 'treat' air paip yg berklorin tuh... I guess that was the main reason, tak tau lah kot ada bekas2 sabun dlm bath tub since pg2 tu Nik Mad (spent a wkd here) yg mandi dalam tu. Minggu lepas, on the way balik dari kampung, singgah kat bandar keluang tambah lagi 8 ekor. So smlm balik kerja, sambil2 bg makan ikan2 tu sempatlah snap gambar ikan2 kap yg ada sekrg....

Remaining 4 survivors plus 8 new comers...
Should hv added some more, later lah...

Ikan yg dipindahkan ke dlm bath tub sementara kerja2 pembersihan kolam dijalankan...

Do Not Touch

Noticed this 'handmade warning sign ' glued on our bookshelves when I got back from my previous outstation. It came with the translation in Malay which according to Akid, it was meant for bibik so that she will understand what he wrote. I guess warning sign for us for not even trying to mess up with his transformers.... That's funny ;)

Eid Mubarak

Rasanya masih belum terlambat utk mengucapkan Selamat hari raya Aidil fitri tuk semua & maaf zahir batin.

Tahun ini, seperti biasa ikut giliran, kami meraikan raya pertama di Keluang, Johor dimana raya ketiga barulah balik ke Kb. Ramadhan lalu, Akid berjaya berpuasa selama 29 hari. Kerna tak tahan dugaan, dia dgn tanpa rasa bersalah telah membuka puasa pada hari kedua berpuasa.... sabar jer lah... :p

Makanan wajib hari raya di rmh mertua...

Kelongsong ketupat ni kami anyam sendiri tau...;)

Away day in Damai Laut

I've just got back from Damai Laut in Lumut, a 4hr journey via road. Alhamdulillah, it was a smooth journey by Kopetro coach, back and forth. There were actually 2 coaches, each departed from either KLCC or Dayabumi. The main agenda to Damai Laut was for the initiative away day and we were there for 3 days starting from Wednesday. It was merely for business, basically no time for leisure, spa, sauna, gym, etc and let alone sightseeing / shopping. The meeting started from morning till late night each day. For night session, it started after solat sunat terawih at 9.30pm... hmm sounds workaholic huh, but yes indeed we were... everybody was engrossed with the deliverable tasks for the challenge sessions prior for SC presentation. If talking about exhausted, though it was not a big issue, I guess most of us could feel that, moreover we were fasting... It might be due to the hikmah of fasting in this blessing month of Ramadhan, most of us seemed to possess a lot of patience. Hopefully, our contribution for this project will be considered as part of our ibadah & it will be a part of our legacy for the next gen., insyallah.

Ahlan wa sahlan, the barakah month of Ramadhan...

Dipohon agar sentiasa mendapat rahmat kasih sayang & keberkatanNYA. Sama2lah kita berdoa agar diberikan kekuatan utk mengerjakan suruhanNYA & menghindari segala laranganNYA.

After 18 years

Guess what, I finally met my long lost fren of 18 yrs eversince we parted after form 5 in 1990. During that time, Mc Za & I (her glamor name among frens & I was known as Mc Pi) were in the same dorm and more, we were 'bedmate'. It was actually a double decker bed, which my bed was on top of hers.

Yesterday, I had a chance to invite her to my house. Since we didn't hear from each other for ages, so there was a lot of things to catch up about each other. While having my home-made spaghetti and bread pudding, we exchanged stories about us & others that came across our mind, hehehe. Part mengilai sakan tu tak dapet nak elak... Tambah2 dgn Cik Mek sorang ni, mmg buat aku gelak jek.

About Mc Za, she's a lecturer in Accounting. I didn't know she graduated in accounting whereas I was the one who took Accounts during form 4-5. Currently, she's pursuing her PhD in UITM. Camner ler si Za mengajar ek.. hehehe... Smlm mcm2 citer kuar, termasuklah as how she remembers me kuat tidur during SPM time... Yer ker Za, ko biar betul... and also about this one 'saiko' guy which I chose to avoid most during our school time but at the same time was one of her best fren... We also tried to figure out the whereabout of our other dorm-mates. Well, there were things like some of our frens or some of the events which I didn't recall at all, sigh... Is it bcoz of age factor or the ignorance part of me?? Or combination?? About the girl's name which Za was asking as she described as a sweet girl with long hair & 'terror' in Physics (good at Physics) was left unanswered. I was clueless... who??

Our photo after 18 yrs meeting each other. If I hv time & if only I'm not lazy, maybe I can add the photos during Mrsm... :P

Around July

Parts of family gathering, work & play around July...
Akid & cousins (Im & Nisa') during Cik E visited us. During that time, my mom was staying with us for a 1 month ++, taking break after her back operation.

Akid & cousin (Nik Mad) when Cik Na visited us on the following week.

PCCM COP held nearby Pavilion where some of us took opportunity to shop during lunch time on Friday. I jadi tukang teman jek, sambil pom pom... heheh. View from my room in Novotel.
ACD program in Penang Equatorial.
Even at first I was wondering why all the way to Penang and not KL, but again who am I, ikut jer ler... Mcm sewa flight la plak... Just after I clarified with the organizer why Penang, their answer was the overall / pkg cost in Penang was still cheaper compared by having it in KL...
The program was ok, mix of informative talks & fun...
Ariff's bday, Akid's second cousin.
Ariff is the one in orange shirt but looks like Akid plak yg semangat hehehe...

PGTS bowling tournament at Mid valley on one of Saturday morning.
