Salam Aidiladha

Today, the muslims worldwide are celebrating Eid al adha (Raya Korban / Festival of sacrifice), to commemorate the willingness of Nabi Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his own son, Nabi Ismail as an act of his obedience to Allah, which Allah has substituted Nabi Ismail with a sheep. At the same time, almost 3 Mils of Hajj pilgrims are performing their stoning ritual in Mina, which symbolizes stoning the devil.

This year, we are celebrating Eid al-Adha in Doha. Other than during my study, this is my first time celebrating Eid in a foreign country. Yesterday we made a small scale of our favorite meal for Eid celebration, just enough for our small family and neighbor. It was actually on trial basis as the cooking was mostly referred to googled recipes & with limited resources... 'Nasi impit' was cooked based on my instinct though ;p Alhamdulillah, the food turned out just great, according to my Johorian hubby based on his expectation & benchmarking ;)

Homemade chicken 'rendang', lodeh Johor (prawn & mix veges cooked in coconut milk), nasi impit (rice cake), tiny curry-puffs and sweet-corn custard pudding for dessert.
